MOTYL, Edward J. Edward J. Motyl, 83, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, (March 23, 2004) at Hartford Hospital, Hartford. He was born on May 3, 1920 in Wilbraham, MA, the son of the late Francis and Bertha (Haluch) Motyl. Ed resided in Enfield for many years. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Ed was formerly employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 43 years and retired as a master tool & die mechanic in 1982. In his leisure time Ed enjoyed woodworking, fishing and golfing. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church, Enfield and the St. Bernard's Golf Team, a member of the Manchester Nutmeg Racing Pigeon Club & Central Mass Racing Pigeon Club, Ed had raced homing pigeons for 55 years. Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Agnes (Mielnikiewicz) Motyl; a son, Michael Motyl of Enfield; a daughter, Mary Godin and her husband, Maurice of Enfield; a son, John Motyl and his wife, Kathleen of Enfield; a son, Thomas Motyl and his wife, Tami of Coventry; and a daughter, Carol Bores and her husband, Kenneth of Enfield; his nine beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly and Scott Godin, Jillian Motyl and Thomas Motyl, Jr. Jessica Motyl and John Motyl Jr. and Katrina and Alison Bores; a great grandson, Anthony Perez. Ed also leaves two brothers, Mitchell Motyl of Chicopee, MA and Joseph Motyl of Wilbraham, MA and a sister, Sophie Allen of Chesapeake, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ed will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 9 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church, Enfield. Interment will be with Military Honors in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. The Motyl family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Ed's name may be made to the Enfield Community Ambulance Fund, Inc. PO, Box 1249 Enfield, CT 06083-1249.
