TANNY, Edward Erny
Edward Erny Tanny, 83, died Sunday, (February 17, 2013). He was born, May 2nd 1929 in Lynnfield Center, MA. Ed is survived by his three sons: Mark Tanny of Brownsville, VT; Craig Tanny of Weston, MA; Keith Tanny of Saratoga Springs, NY. He also is survived by seven grandchildren and his sister Betty Crowley of Naples, FL. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Edith Tanny and his two brothers Burton and Jack. He attended Boston University where he studied accounting and participated in the ROTC program. He graduated with a BA in Business Administration in 1952. He entered the military for several years and was honorably discharged in 1961. Ed founded a successful chain of retail jewelry stores in Connecticut. The business was sold in 1991 and he retired to Florida. Ed was a civic leader and participated in Lion's club, Masons, Habitat for Humanity and other business organizations. Ed was adventurous and liked playing golf and spending time with friends and family.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to The Villages Hospital 1451 El Camino Real, The Villages, FL 32159.
