Edwin Ruiz

1960 - 2022

Edwin 'Maestro' Ruiz (Artist/Producer), 61, of Torrington, CT, has joined his mother in God's Kingdom on December 4th, 2022. Edwin was born to the late Germanda Perez-Rivera and Pablo Ruiz on December 26, 1960, in Hartford CT. He was raised in Stowe Village of Hartford's North End where he was known as Frog.

Edwin was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his sons and their families: Edwin Ruiz II, Lisa Larenson and Edwin Ruiz III, Elon; Joshua Ruiz, Yassinia DeLeon and Lailee, Violet, Benjamin; Isaac Ruiz, Brianna DeLeon and Shayla, the late Selena. His siblings and their families: Iris Ruiz, Norberto Ruiz, Maria Ruiz Good, Marisol Rivera, Nancy Vasquez Lumpkin. His faithful dog Lucky Carlos. AND A HOST OF nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his side kick, Christian who he considered a son and his good friend George.

Edwin was the founder of the Facebook group New York Ricans, which has over 58K members. He was very proud and passionate of this group and very dedicated to its followers.

Edwin was a true artist and producer. As an artist he was known as Maestro and there was no art he couldn't conquer. His art passions included Free Hand drawing and painting, Computer Drawings and paintings, beach sand sculpting, wood carvings, candle carvings, wire art, jewelry making, poetry; the list is endless of what he could create. He was also a great producer and one of the founders of Alpha-II-Omega Productions.

Along with art and creating music Edwin enjoyed fishing especially with his grandson Tre and RC Car racing. We would of course be remiss if we did not mention his admirations of the voluminous masses and various curvatures of the female form as depicted in his artwork. Let's not forget his coffee and his Washington Redskins!!

Edwin was so funny and always made us laugh. His impact will be forever felt by his family, that loves him dearly. There are so many things he said that we will forever think of and laugh

Edwin's family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2022, 10am-12pm, followed by a celebration of life at 12pm, at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor, CT 06095.
