As Town Clerk, it was my privilege to give Eileen the oath of office as First Selectman of the Town of Westbrook. Eileen broke barriers. She was the first woman to serve as Selectman for the Town of Westbrook and also, I believe, she was only the second Democrat to serve as First Selectman in the entire history of the town. She was my dear friend and co-worker. Our deep and sincere sympathy to Jim and family. Jo-Jo and Bill Schneider Westbrook, Ct

Not enough can be said about this good woman. She asked not what others can do for her, but what she could do for others. Rest in peace, a well deserved peace.

Peg and I were privileged to know Eileen, and so grateful for her support. She knew her own mind, and was never deterred from doing what she believed in. Westbrook and Connecticut are better because of her public service.

It is with great sadness I have read about my friend Eileen Daily. Eileen sat next to me in the Senate her first two years which were my last two years. She was bright, energetic, comical and determined to do what she envisioned as the best for Connecticut. We didn't agree on many philosophical issues but my respect for Eileen was absolute. May GOD bless you Eileen and hold you close.
