Eileen McGuinness Obituary



It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen T. (Madden) McGuinness, announces her passing on May 29, 2017 at the age of 77. Born in Hartford on Nov 13, 1939, she made her home in the East Hartford area. Ms. McGuinness graduated from Weaver High School, Class of 1957; Hartford Secretarial School, Class of 1958 and was employed at The Aetna and The Hartford Insurance Companies for years. Ms. McGuinness was an active member of The First Church of Christ in Wethersfield, CT for many years where she was a member of the Prayer Team, Stephen's Ministry and Deacon Emeritus. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Patrick and Eileen Fallon Madden. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas "Frank" Madden, Mary Louise Madden Lowndes, and Michael Anthony Madden. She is survived by five loving children, Theresa Lavoie and her husband Mark of Olney, MD, Maryann Fialdini and her husband Andrew of Ashburn, VA Joseph McGuinness and his wife Laurie of Waterford, CT; Tricia Laubscher and her husband Brady of Simsbury, CT, Julie McGuinness of Ashburn, VA, her former husband Joseph McGuinness of Clearwater, FL and eight loving grandchildren who called her 'Nanay' - Joseph and Jack Lavoie, Nicholas, Kristen and Matthew Fialdini, Alec and Ryan Laubscher; and Madison Cooper. Her three brothers - John Madden of St. Petersburg, FL, Joseph Madden of Newington, CT James Madden of Newington, CT and many nieces and nephew also survive her. Memorial donations in memory of Eileen can be made to First Church of Christ. There will be a memorial service, receiving line and reception immediately following at First Church of Christ, 250 Main St, Wethersfield, CT on Fri, Jun 2nd at 1:30pm. Ms. McGuinness requested her body to be donated to medical research.

You were one of God's special gems. All who knew you will miss you dearly. You taught me many things during our times of prayer. You are with Jesus now, basking in His loving presence.
