El Pedo Burke Obituary

El Pedo Patrick Burke, 67 of Hartford passed away peacefully on December 9, 2020. He was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica with music in his soul. If you could say it, he would sing it. And then he began playing the guitar. In fact, he literally made his first guitar when he was about 17 years old. It was made out of wood, canvass and spring; and believe it or not, it actually had sound! He came to the United States when he was twenty-nine years of age. He even had a record released in the United States while he was still residing in Jamaica. El Pedo was born to sing, and simply put, Reggae music was his core. He was the founder and lead singer of Cool Running Reggae Band. El Pedo Patrick Burke is survived by Veleta Jackson (sister) Skymeter Gordon (sister), Sylvester Burke (brother), Veryl Burke (sister), Audlet Burke (sister). He leaves to cherish his memories, several nephews and nieces, many cousins, former band members and a host of fans who loved his music…and him. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 10:00 am with the funeral to follow at 11:00am at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
