Elaine Ann King

Elaine Ann (Lasek) King, 83, of South Windsor, beloved wife of over 27 years to the late Robert G. King, Jr. (2018), passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late George and Anna Mae (Campbell) Lasek, she grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Our Lady of Sorrow School and William H. Hall High School. Elaine was employed at the Journal Inquirer for over 20 years and retired from C & S Distributors after 16 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor. She enjoyed vacations in the Caribbean Islands, watching and listening to the birds in her backyard and one of her favorite things to do was going to karaoke to hear Bob sing. She also loved going out to dinner and spending time with her daughters and always looked forward to Martini Sunday. She was a kind, caring, generous, and family-oriented person who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Sgro of Tolland, and Lisa Levasseur and her husband Rodney of Stafford Springs; her sister, Marilyn Sobol of Burlington; her step-daughter, Debra Bobey and her husband Michael of Tolland; her grandchildren, Richard Sgro of Miami, FL; Tyler Bobey of Manchester and Andrew Bobey and his wife Brianna of Vernon; her great grandson, Landon Bobey of Vernon and her granddog Morgan Levasseur of Stafford Springs. Elaine's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Francis Cardiac ICU for their support and care during this very difficult time. Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor. Burial will be private.
