NICEWICZ, Elizabeth (Lojzim) Elizabeth "Betty" (Lojzim) Nicewicz, 91, of Rockville, beloved wife of the late Chester J. Nicewicz, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, (February 11, 2011). Born in Coventry, daughter of the late John and Mary (Marovich) Lojzim, she lived in Rockville for most of her life. Prior to her retirement in 1981, Betty was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford in the purchasing department for 30 years. She enjoyed fluke fishing in Mystic with her husband, boating, and going to the beach. She was an avid gardener who loved tending to her vegetables, flowers, and beautiful roses. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Cynthia Nicewicz of Vernon; two grandchildren, Robin Nicewicz of Stafford Springs, and Cheryl Nicewicz of Ellington; a great-grandson, Ryan Nicewicz of Vernon; a sister, Julia Povlosky of Rockville; a brother, Jim Loyzim of Storrs and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, John, Steve, Bill, and Margaret Lojzim. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 10–12 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home beginning at 12 NOON.
