Ellen Marie Berson

Ellen Marie (Dill) Berson passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 1 at the age of 72. She was the daughter of Richard and Ann Dill who raised her in Branford, Connecticut. Ellen graduated from the Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in education. While Ellen worked for many years as a consultant in the Software industry, she completed the last eight years of her working career as a paralegal in Annapolis, Maryland. Ellen and her husband Michael A. Berson were about to celebrate their forty third anniversary in October. Ellen always loved anything associated with the water. She and Michael spent many summers both on the Long Island Sound and the Chesapeake Bay aboard their sailboat, "Breathless". Every winter she would enjoy the thrills and joys of underwater nature as she and Michael spent a week at their timeshare in Grand Cayman. However, her leisure activities never gave her as much satisfaction as the time spent with her grandchildren. All five, Leyah, Jonah, Naomi, Benjamin and Jamie gave her great joy as she watched them develop into beautiful adults. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her brother, James Dill and his daughter Madeline, of Sarasota, Florida, as well as her step children, Haley Melikian, Jill Stuart and Maxine Bol. This kind, beautiful person will be interred in the Sarasota National Cemetery on September 7, 2022 in a graveside service attended by family and close friends. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or any other traditional gift that a donation is made to The ALS Association.
