Ellen DePlacito Obituary



Ellen "Barbara" (Locksie) DePlacito joined her beloved late husband Joseph DePlacito on January 11, 2018. Barbara was the daughter of the late Ellen and Tom Robertson and George Locksie. She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on December 9, 1938 and she spent many summers on her beloved Prudence Island. She resided in Hartford most of her life, moving to Berlin in 2008. She was a kind, gentle woman who enjoyed many interests which included her love for reading, gardening, crocheting, animals, and most importantly spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Joseph and Kathi DePlacito of Port Barre, LA, Lisa Santos and her partner Pura Gomez of New Britain and Christine and Robert Urciuoli of Newington, her grandchildren, Joshua DePlacito, Elena and Phil Alexander, Stephanie Urciuoli and Matt Beard, Sarah and Scotty Barron and Hannah DePlacito, and her most treasured great grandchildren, Anthony, Wyatt, Nicholas, Daniel, Cole, Giuliana and Victoria. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Judy Robertson, her sister-in-law Lois Kobylanski and three special nieces. Family and Friends may visit Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at First Church of Christ, 830 Corbin Avenue, New Britain, at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. To share a memory, please visit us at www.newingtonmemorial.com.
