Elton J. Sceggel

SCEGGEL, Elton J. Elton J. Sceggel, 86 of Peoria, IL., died Thursday at the Methodist Medical Center, Mr. Sceggel was born June 22, 1920 in Hartford, the son of James and Emma Beard Sceggel. He married Constance (Carlson), Nov. 15, 1947. She preceded him in death Aug. 21, 2004 in Glastonbury. Surviving are two sons, Mark (Judith) Sceggel of Peoria, IL., and Jonathan (Kimberly) Sceggel of Elgin, IL. Also surviving are six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Elvira Parks, Mr. Sceggel was a 1942 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and the Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi honorary societies. Mr. Sceggel retired from Pratt & Whitney Division of UTC in 1985 after 43 years of service in the engineering department. He served six years as an associate member of the Glastonbury Volunteer Ambulance Association. He was a volunteer at Methodist Medical Center and the Berean Prison Ministries. Mr. Sceggel attended the Sheridan Road Apostolic Christian Church. Funeral services were held Sat. Feb. 17, at the Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home in Peoria, IL. Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church officiated. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. Memorials may be made to Apostolic Bible Fund, 3420 Sheridan Rd., Peoria, IL.
