Eric Avitabile Obituary
Eric James Avitabile, 33, of Glastonbury, CT, left us too soon on September 24, 2015. Eric had the ability to light up any room with his smile, but what brought him the most joy were his children. He loved traveling, the ocean, sunsets, and the outdoors. With his love of the outdoors, he was presently employed at MC Tree Care, where the staff quickly became like family. He was an avid reader, a great cook and a novice golfer. His gifts included masonry, making people smile, and leaving behind a contagious laugh. His children remember him giving the best hugs during storms, reading books at night, especially "Uncle Wiggly", countless hours of video games and endless amounts of laughs. He had a passion for the sport of darts, and loved his family at the ECDA. He is survived by his beautiful children, Gavin, Bree, Jalen and Austin. The love of his life, Samantha Guzman. His mother, Rowena Bishop Hornish, and her husband, Chris Hornish. His mother-in-law, Patricia Guzman-Smith. His father, Bruce Avitabile. His best friend, and brother, Bryan Avitabile. His younger brother, Adam Avitabile. Younger sister, Jessica Avitabile. His grandparents, Dr. Stanton and Gloria Avitabile, and Donald and Kathy Bishop; whom he adored. Also many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. He will always be missed, cherished and treasured. From those who knew him best, Samantha, Jalen, Gavin, Bree, Pat and Grandpa Stan

I can still see Eric and his brother, Bryan running around my back yard as little boys, while Marla babysat them, they were screeching and laughing. Eric had such an adorable little grin

We have known each other 12 years already. We were introduced through our beloved Ryan Michael and instantly I became family with you Sam and the kids. You were more than a friend to me you were my brother. I wish you could have seen yourself the way all the people whose lives you touched see you as the fun, loving, intelligent young man that we all loved. That laugh of yours that infectious laugh instantly made those around you happy. That impish mischievous Chesire cat grin that is in every photo of you. That quick Witt you had about you. That huge heart that would do anything for anyone if possible. Luckily for the universe you saw fit to have two amazing children who are the best of every quality you had so that your beautiful spirit will go on for the world to marvel at. I cannot wait to see them grow up and be the amazing people they are destined to become and that will be due to the loving partner and father that you were. I will continue to look after Sam, Bree,Gavin and Jalen. When you get to heaven tell Ryan I said not to dress you in a boa and sprinkle you with too much glitter. Although we both know he probably did just that. I love you my brother and will love and miss you to the depths of my heart.

To My Beloved Rowena,
My heart goes out to you and your family in this loss of your beloved,first born, Eric.
I can picture him around 4, running around my back yard while Marla was babysitting him, and that cute little grin he had, and OMG, do you remember him and his brother, throwing hot dogs around at Papa Gino's in East Hartford, Ct. we were all cracking up,
