Eric Bourbeau Obituary

Eric "Rick" Bourbeau, 56, of Bloomfield, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 8, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford after collapsing at his sister's home in East Granby. Born June 28, 1962 in Hartford son of M. Jessie (LaBrie) Bourbeau of Bloomfield and the late Ernest A. Bourbeau, he had lived in Bloomfield all his life. He loved his country, being barefoot outdoors, going camping and fishing, and reading about the latest scientific discoveries. He was an animal lover and was passionate about his sport teams; the Patriots, Red Sox and all things UCONN. His most treasured moments were spending time with his family especially his nieces, and his Sunday dinners watching football at his brother and sister-in-law's house. He was a gentle, pure hearted soul who would help you move the earth if you needed him and was loved by all who knew him. Rick will be truly missed and forever in our hearts. Besides his mother, Jessie, he is survived by two brothers, Marc Bourbeau (Christine) of Bloomfield, Steven Bourbeau (Ann) of Enfield; a sister, Denise MacKinnon (John) of East Granby; his nephew and nieces, Christian, Heather, and Lauren; his beloved dog, "Gabby". His family will receive friends Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019, 10:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111 or to Simon Foundation, 120 Rescue Lane, Bloomfield, CT 06002. To all of the Bourbeau Family. On behalf of all his good friends and in the Twilight Crusaders guild on World Of Warcraft, we offer our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers. It was a shock to hear for all of us.
Personally, I have known Rick through WoW for almost 10 years, as we met doing the Easter event. He loved playing Wow and he will really be missed. He was always there to lend a hand or have a chat about literally anything. He was a good friend in good times and bad. Rest in peace dear friend.

Rickie and I were housemates for almost 4 years. Over the past three years he became a touchstone, a brother and my friend. Always there when I needed him, made fun of me, laughed with me, helped me, we were housemates until a month ago. We shared our addiction and love for dogs, good food, Star Wars. He was 57 years old, spoke to him everyday ...... he just left us, all of us hanging here in this earthly place. I know the Heavenly Father has welcomed him. There was not a nicer, more helpful , sweeter person that I know. I will miss his presence on this planet, and Know his mom and siblings will terribly miss him. Travel well, Ricky, I love you and will miss you , my gentle friend, as will Jack , Lucy , your television watching partner kitty Marcello and of course Miss Gabby.

I am at a total loss with the passing of Ricky, my friend from the age of four. Rick and I would play on the swings together, ride bikes and did lots of laughing over the years. I will miss our vast discussion about on variety of topics since he a vast knowledge on everything. He was such a kind, gentle and loving man the likes of which comes along so infrequently. I will miss him so much. Sleep well, my friend, until we meet again.
