Esther Igdalsky Obituary



Esther (Westerman) Igdalsky, age 101, of West Hartford, died peacefully Sunday (December 15, 2013). She was the beloved wife, for 37 years, of the late Morris Igdalsky. Born in Hudson, New York, she was the daughter of Abraham and Sarah Westerman. While residents of Torrington, she and Morris attended the Beth El Synagogue in Torrington, from 1962-1989. Esther was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by two sons: Alan B. Igdalsky and his wife Hope, of Manchester and Sidney A. Igdalsky and his wife Andrea of West Hartford, three grandchildren: Aaron, Marc, and Leah. Esther was predeceased by her four brothers and sister. The family expresses a heartfelt appreciation for the care provided by the staff of 3 North at the Hebrew Home and Hospital. The funeral will be graveside on Thursday, December 19 at 1 PM with Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating at the Sons of Jacob Cemetery, next to 1688 Winsted Rd. in Torrington. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8:30PM at 225 Slater Street in Manchester. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hebrew Home and Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford, 06117 or to Temple Beth Sholom B'Nai Israel, 400 Middle Turnpike East in Manchester, CT 06040. Esther's memory will be forever in our hearts. Funeral arrangements provided by Hebrew Funeral Association, West Hartford.
