Dick, Bob, Karen, Sarah and all the grandchildren,
Uncle Gene has been a huge part of our lives, especially when we were all still in New Britain and my Dad (Walt Kawecki), Gene, Joe Ozimek and Dziadzia ran "the shop" during the long week and were our "Connecticut family" at all times. Uncle Gene gave us his own special "smile" when we got to see him and we always felt his calling us/our spouses by name in later years showed he cared. My mother (Irene Rosol) followed him to boarding school and loved being his kid sister there! He worried about our Dad and Mom as their health faded and he made certain to visit when he could. We know he was a tough guy too -- after all he is Martin's oldest son -- but we knew the man had a song in his heart for his entire family.
