Eugene A. THEROUX

THEROUX, Eugene A. Eugene A. Theroux, 87, of South Windsor, beloved husband for 62 years of Ida G. (Germain) Theroux, passed away on Friday, (February 25, 2011) at his home. He was born on August 5, 1923 in Woonsocket, RI to the late Philip and Orise (Parenteau) Theroux. Eugene was a Master Electrician and member of the I.B.W. and retired after over forty years of service at the age of 60. Among the many places besides CT that Ida and Eugene lived were Canada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Florida, and eventually settling in South Windsor for the past four years where he was a Parishoner of St. Margaret Mary Church. He enjoyed billiards, which he excelled at, as well as playing cards with friends. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife Ida, he is survived by his sons, Peter S. Theroux and his wife Rhonda of East Hartland; John A. Theroux and his wife Michele of Groton, MA; his daughter, Louise M. Violette and her husband Gary of Holland, MA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Rachelle Theroux, Nicole Theroux, Jennifer Merkle and her husband Paul, Amy McCarthy and her husband Sean, Jeremy Violette, Todd Violette and his wife Kristen, and Eric Violette, as well as three great grandchildren, Jack and Kelly Merkle, and Colin McCarthy. Besides his parents Eugene was predeceased by his sister, Fernande Theroux. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, March 1, 8:45 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor, 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends on Monday, February 28, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
