Evan Cashman Obituary

Evan Harry Cashman, 24, of Suffield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 11, 2023. Born in Hartford on August 8, 1999, son of Edward "Ned" Vincent Cashman of South Windsor and Mary Antonia (Leclerc) Cashman of Suffield, he was a lifelong resident of Suffield and was a graduate of Suffield High School, Class of 2017. While growing up in Suffield, Evan met several friends in elementary school that would grow to become lifelong friends and faithful members of his crew. Evan and his friends went through Cub Scouts and later Boy Scouts together and Evan eventually attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop #260 in Suffield. While he enjoyed playing tennis and golf and skiing, Evan loved watching professional sports more and was a huge Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan. Evan, his brother, and his father also enjoyed watching UFC fights on Saturday nights. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He loved hot food and making dishes that he saw in movies or on TV. His family always looked forward to his homemade red sauce and the recipes he developed with his own unique blend of spices. As he got older, Evan developed a love of comedy building on his great sense of humor. After high school, he went on to major in film at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. He loved writing new screenplays and using his creative side to think of topics for new movies, especially comedies. While in Savannah, Evan started attending stand-up comedy shows and even participated in several open mic nights near his campus. Most of all, Evan will be remembered for his love of family and friends. His family will never forget his vast intellect, his love of learning, and his dedication to those he loved. In addition to his parents, he leaves three siblings, Alyssa Rose Cashman, Megan Antonia Cashman, and Wyatt Edward Cashman all of Suffield; his paternal grandmother, Mary G. Cashman of Hyannis, MA; his maternal grandfather, Robert "Bob" Leclerc of Windsor; two uncles, Richard "Neil" Cashman who was also his Godfather of Hyannis, MA, and Daniel Cashman and his wife Justina of Suffield; two aunts, Trish Robinson and her husband Kevin of Pinehurst, NC and Jane E. Neenan of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and a maternal great-aunt, Maryann M. Clark of Windsor. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Richard N. Cashman; his maternal grandmother, Antonia M. Leclerc; and by his aunt and Godmother, Lori Ann Thom. His family will receive friends on Saturday, August 19, 1-4 p.m., followed by a service of remembrances at 4 p.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Street North, Suffield. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in the Poquonock section of Windsor at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Suffield Community Aid, 450 South St., Suffield, CT 06078. For online condolences please visit, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.

We are so saddened to hear the news. When the boys gathered at our house for a Saturday evening of video games and football I will always remember opening the door and this big kid with an even bigger smile was standing there to come in. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Chris and Jason Mannino
