Firoz Mistry Obituary

On September 6, 2018, Dr. Firoz Mistry, husband of Piloo Mistry of South Windsor, passed away at the age of 79. Firoz was born in Bombay, India, to the late Tehmi and Dara Mistry. Firoz leaves behind a sister Khorshed (Sheetal), brother-in-law Suresh Deshpande, and nephews Shailesh and Rajesh. Firoz received his MBBS degree from G.S. Medical College in Bombay, India; FRCS from England, Edinburgh, and Canada; and FACS from America. He practiced general surgery with peripheral vascular surgery his whole life, originally in England, and moved to Hartford, CT in 1979. He had active staff privileges at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT, ECHN Manchester Memorial Hospital and courtesy staff privileges at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut before he retired in 2005. He was a kind, compassionate, generous, and dedicated husband, friend, and physician. He went out of his way to help everyone and anyone who needed medical advice, and people were often stunned by the accuracy of his diagnoses. His love of enjoying life was exceeded only by his love for his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Sunday, September 9 at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor, CT. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations are made to Parkinson Research Foundation (www.ParkinsonHope.org).
