Florence Langlois Obituary

Florence was born on November 30, 1945, in Springfield, MA, to Florian "Rocky" Zawrotny and Edith (Gokey) Zawrotny. Florence was predeceased by her mother, father and her sister Carolyn (Zawrotny) Lewis, all of Springfield, MA. Florence attended Springfield schools and graduated from Pathways Commerce High School with the class of 1963. Florence began working at Mercy Hospital as a clerical worker. In order to be home with her children during the day, Florence worked as a nurse's aide during the overnight shift. After moving to Springfield, Florence worked as Director of Medical Records for Mediplex of East Longmeadow for nine years. Once retired from Mediplex, Florence enjoyed volunteer work, including the USO at Westover Airforce Base, Polish-American Women's club. Florence could be described as a dedicated, kind-hearted, generous, loving mother and Memere who would do anything for her children and grandchildren! She was always her children and grandchildren's biggest cheerleader! Florence was "The Life of the Party" and loved to be the center of attention and to make people laugh. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with friends and family in her spare time- oh, and 'sometimes' she liked chatting on the phone! Together, Florence and Leon leave behind their three children Todd and wife Lisa Langlois of Somers, CT, Joseph and wife Stacy Langlois of West Springfield, MA, and Tracy (Langlois) Capozzi and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Capozzi of Woodbury, CT, as well as their grandchildren Bethany, Matthew, Joseph Jr., and Emma Langlois, and fur grandchildren Macie, Morgan, Pebbles and Pumpkin, Florence's sisters Rosalie Gail Messier and her husband Phil of Springfield, MA, her sister Debbie and her husband Peter of Naples, FLA, their brother-in-law Richard Lewis of Springfield, MA, Leon's sister Loretta Morton, of Holyoke, MA, their sister-in-law, Lillian Langlois, of Easthampton, MA, several nieces and nephews, and many life-long and very close friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner Street, East Windsor, CT 06088. A Funeral Home Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021. Please abide by CDC recommendations, Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. Dear Tracy,
I was very sorry to here about Flo and Lee . Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Your mom always made me laugh. Luckily Flo liked me.
Your dad was a smart man. I hadn't read alot of books before I met him.
He gave me the book Marine Sniper. I still have it. Trivia. He was the king. They are in heaven together now. Free of all sickness.
Lastly I know this past year was a big mess for all.
You should be very proud of yourself for looking after your parents under very difficult circumstances. You take care & God Bless !!!!!
From your old friend Mark

Flo introduced herself to our family when they first moved into the Tannery Rd neighborhood. Fifty some years later, she & Lee moved to Florida and I moved back to my home state of N.Y. Our families had many good times together at church and school and partying with all of our great neighborhood friends. We were a large neighborhood FAMILY, all helping each other in our times of need. As we got older, we scattered to other states, or sometimes because of death ...... but we never stopped caring and missing our wonderful, happy, fun years as the best of friends. R.I.P Flo and Lee. Say hello to Bev and Bill & many others of our great neighborhood. Miss all of you.

What can I say about our friendship? It would fill a huge book. Fun & laughter were the hallmark of our friendship; never a dull moment! Flo & Lee spent a few days down here with us in Florida and I'm so glad we did because it was the last time we saw them before the quatantine hit. Our wonderful memories of a 50 plus year friendship will last forever. We send our prayers & sympathy to Tracy, Todd & Joe along with our love. Cheryl & Jimmy XXOO
