Francis E. "Frank" Bartholomay

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Francis E. "Frank" Bartholomay, a cherished soul whose presence touched many lives over his 94 years. Frank died on June 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and countless memories for his children Joan Nielsen of Somers, CT, Paul Bartholomay of Somers, CT, Frank Bartholomay of West Bath, ME, and Anne Bartholomay of Suffield, CT. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Ann Bartholomay of Newtown, PA, his six grandchildren Rebecca, Leah, Jamie, Nathan, James, and Aftyn, and fourteen nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Dolores, his son James Bartholomay, his brother Don Bartholomay, and a son-in-law, Christopher Nielsen.

Frank worked at H.P. Hood Ice Cream, until his retirement, taking his family to new homes in Maine, New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut over his long career. Family and friends will remember him, with a knowing smile, for his endless supply of Hoodsie Cups.

Frank enjoyed reading (especially history books), holidays and special occasions with his family, and time spent with his friends at St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield, CT, where he lived for the last twelve years. Most of all, Frank loved being at the cottage that was built by his family in West Bath, ME and boating on the New Meadows River.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday July 10th, at the St. Joseph's Residence Chapel, 1365 Enfield St, Enfield, CT .
