Francis Hurlock

1928 - 2018

Francis J. Hurlock, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Cherry Brook Healthcare Center in Canton. He was predeceased by his wife Anneliese. He was born on December 25, 1928, in Manchester, son of the late Frank and Grace (Riley) Hurlock. His first career he served over twenty years in the Army Air Corp/U.S. Army, serving at the end of WWII and during the Vietnam War, where he earned many commendation medals. While in the service he spent time in Japan, Germany and numerous Army Bases in the United States. After retiring from the service, his career brought him to the Town of Simsbury where he retired after more than twenty years of service. He is survived by his children, Robert Hurlock of FL, Timothy Hurlock and his wife Kathy of Farmington, Christopher Hurlock and his wife Joan of East Haddam, Brian Hurlock and his Fiance Shannon of Unionville, Deborah Halle and her husband Marty of Canton, David Hurlock and his wife Patty of Burlington and Heidi Hurlock and her partner Denise Henninger of Canton. Mr. Hurlock is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle Carpenter and her husband Brett, Joshua Hurlock of Avon, Chad Halle of MA, Anneliese Hurlock of Collinsville, Jon Hurlock and his fiancé, Lexi McCusker of New Hartford, Patrick Halle and his wife Erica of AL, Tyler Hurlock of Burlington, Katie Hurlock of Burlington and Kenan Hurlock of Canton. In addition to his grandchildren his is also survived by his great grandchildren, Jemma and Fitzgerald of AZ. Also, survived by his sisters Eileen McCormick of RI and Patricia Lavado of East Hartford. He is predeceased by his brothers, Allen, Walter Hurlock and Milton Hurlock and his two sisters, AnnMarie Short and Regina Barone. Frank enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel and go on vacations, especially to destinations with a nearby beach. He was admired by all for his singing and dancing skills. He was famous for his rendition of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York". The Family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to Cherry Brook Healthcare Center for their dedication and care to their father over the last years of his life. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church in Unionville. Calling hours for friends and family will be Thursday, February 15th from 4:00PM - 8PM at the Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Unionville, CT. The Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, February 16th at 10:00AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 145 Main Street, Unionville, CT. Burial with full military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Huckleberry Hill, Avon, CT.
