Frank Berti Obituary

Frank P. Berti, 60, of Berlin, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Hospital for Special Care, where he had been a patient for more than 11 years, after a tragic accident. Born in New Britain, son of the late Frank and Frances (Reale) Berti, he was a lifelong resident of Berlin. He graduated from Berlin High School and had been a dedicated employee of Federal Express for 25 years. He loved poetry, music, animals, people and especially the ocean. He leaves behind two brothers, Dennis of Avon and Brent of Cromwell. He had a particularly close relationship with two nephews, Joel and Justin, both of Los Angeles, CA and a niece, Chiara Berti Clark of Delray Beach, FL. The Berti family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of the Hospital for Special Care. He was treated with care, respect and most importantly, love. They became Frank's family over the last 11 years and for that, we are extremely grateful. Frank proved that, although a man can lose the use of his arms and legs, he could still be an inspiration to all of those who came in contact with him through his beautiful mind and strong, gentle heart. Rest easy Peaceful Warrior. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Frank's favorite charity, The Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111. The Carmon Funeral Home of Avon is caring for the arrangements. To post condolences, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com. "The Real Superman has passed."

Oh my, I just learned of beautiful Franks passing. I always called him Frankie because he was my dear buddy for years. I can't pick a single favorite memory, there was to many.
The biking trails at the reservoir in Avon around the lakes and the many hikes in this lovely area stopping for a picnic laughing telling stories, skimming rocks and soaking up the sunshine reading books together all where absolutely of my fondest memories. Endless hikes at Hubbard Park and many festive celebrations there as well. The fireworks from the top of the castle we loved so much. Watching the hot air balloons go over head during our morning hikes. The photo session we did there at Christmas surrounded by the glistening white lights reflecting in the water slipping and slipping on the ice laughing to hard to be able to get to our feet. Never forget being out to dinner and Frankie stuck the fork into the roasted duckling to hard and sent it flying teehee. We hurried to get it cleaned up placing it back on the table before Brent got back from the restroom and I kept my promise of never telling Brent it happened.
Mom didn't know what we were doing but she was giggling because we were
laughing hysterically. Writing songs and poems together was so fun always I think our best workout was hiking up the trail alongside a black diamond in Killington ski resort in Vermont. Frankie I've missed you and thought of you often all through the years. I will always hold love in my heart for our precious true friendship and wonderful times shared. You were a very loved and dear friend to me.
My deepest and most sincere heartfelt condolences to the family. May the memories of Frankie in a much happier day, and his love for you console you always. Soar the beautiful skies my dear loving friend, I will find you there. XOX forever and always in my heart Diane DeCaprio

To the Bertie Family: Frank was the kindest individual I ever met.

Before I left Connecticut I took Frank for a airplane ride in my Baron. He was so thrilled.

I think now how glad I am that I did that.

Am honest, sincere person, that had virtually no luck in his life.

RIP Frank

To Brent and family, so sorry for the loss of your brother. It's never easy to lose a loved one. Siblings are that special and precious part of all our family life memories. May you find comfort in those memories, and may your heart find peace at this sad time.
