Frank MNICH Obituary

MNICH, Frank J. Frank J. Mnich, 92, of Suffield, beloved husband of Ann (Barnack) Mnich, died peacefully on Tuesday (April 5, 2011) at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 2, 1918 in Suffield, son of the late Marcel and Tillie (Tromak) Mnich. Frank worked for Bigelow Sanford for over 27 years and later went on to work for Hamilton Standard in machine repair, retiring in 1980, after 20 years of service. Frank was a semi-pro golfer and enjoyed deep-sea fishing. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Celtics, Red Sox, UCONN and boxing. Frank was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and is a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Suffield. Frank had a tremendous love for his family and enjoyed every moment he spent with them. A kind, caring, loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, he was always available to help his children and grandchildren; he will be greatly missed by all. Along with his wife, Ann, of over 65 years he leaves, his daughters, Carolyn Strole and her husband Kirby of Suffield, Debbie Baldyga of Suffield and Marianne Morgan and her husband Dan of East Windsor; his sons, Frank J. Mnich Jr. and his wife Cathi of Suffield and John Mnich and his wife Alison of Suffield; his sisters, Mary Tatro and her husband Bernie of Agawam, MA and Jeanne Wilson of Coral Gables, FL; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Adolf Mnich and his sister, Helen Ambrose. His family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Masonicare Home Health and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Family and friends may gather on Friday (April 8, 2011), 9 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., (Rt. 159) Suffield; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. His family will receive friends on Thursday (April 7, 2011) from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
