Frank Nowicki Obituary

Our brother Frank E. Nowicki died unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his home in South Portland, Maine. Born on May 24, 1947, in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the only son of the late Constance (Morelli Nowicki) Stasko and Frank P. Nowicki. Frank graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1965, and the University of Hartford with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Pratt & Whitney, RCA and Raytheon, and traveled throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He served his country in the Vietnam War as a Spec. 4 in the 54th Signal Battalion from September 1967 to August 1968, and was honorably discharged in September 1972. He was one of the first soldiers in his unit to enter the Vietnam jungles to lay telecommunication wiring which provided the only means of communication for his incoming unit. The handsome brother of five sisters leaves behind his twin sister Elaine Camposeo, Esq. and her husband Joe of Bolton; Sandra Garick and her husband Bruce of Coventry; Andrea Nardi of Vernon; Kathleen Clark and her husband James of Manchester; and Leah Nowicki and her husband Brian Kelly of Andover. He is also survived by nieces and great nieces: Kim Albuerne, Leah Camposeo, Allison Albuerne, Isabella Camposeo, Isabella Garick and Madison Garick; nephews and great nephews: Jason Garick, Nick Camposeo, David Albuerne, Joe Camposeo, and Griffin Garick. Frank had the privilege of spending his early childhood living with his family in a Hartford tenement owned by his grandfather, Joe Morelli. Also residing there were the extra eyes and ears of his mother, and his aunts and uncles. His cousins and siblings were his playmates. When Frank heard his father's whistle, he knew it was time to go home. Frank loved the Beatles, nature, fishing and most of all theocean. As a young boy, he worked in his father's Hartford grocery store, F&N Market. He stocked shelves, helped customers and organized the candy case. Frank, affectionately called "Frankie Boy" by his family, was a thoughtful and generous brother. He was protective of his sisters and always tried to be present in their lives. You're gone too soon dear brother; we would have liked more time to tell you how much you were loved. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday May 23, 2015 at Assumption Church, 29 South Adams Street, Manchester, Connecticut. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Frank's name to The Disabled Veterans Organization: http://www.dav.org/ or DAV National Service Foundation, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 Online condolences may be left at the website of Hobbs Funeral Home of Portland, Maine. http://www.hobbsfuneralhome.com/
