Frank Scholl Jr.

Frank Scholl Jr., 91, passed away peacefully October 5, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara (Garde) Scholl. Also survived by his devoted children, Gary Scholl and wife Catherine, Audrey Lamy, and Karen Haraghey and husband Brian, he leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Jenelle Robida-Vera and husband Ed, Julie Locke and husband Zach, and Justin Lamy. He was also blessed with beautiful great grandchildren, Logan, Isabelle, Sofia, Jonah and Ryan. He was pre-deceased by his parents Frank Scholl Sr. and Theresa (Silke) Scholl, and his brother Eugene. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Middletown and attended Middletown High where he met the love of his life, Barbara. After serving in the Marines during the Korean War, they married, moved to Cromwell and they raised their three children. He worked as an electrical designer at various companies, primarily Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool. Fun-loving and sociable, his greatest passion was sailing with his friend Frank. He'd even don his foul weather gear and enjoy the mist and the waves in and around Long Island Sound. He loved big band and jazz music as well as singing. His melodious tenor voice could be heard in the choir at Bethany Lutheran Church where he and Barbara are long-time members. They enjoyed square dancing with Rosetown Squares and Frank was active in the Cromwell Lions Club. He cherished family vacations to Crystal Lake NH, and especially the annual September anniversary trip to Camden ME with Barbara. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday Oct 14, 2022 at 11:00a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 50 Court Street, Cromwell. A private burial will follow the service. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. before the service at the church.
