MARTINELLI, Frederick W. Frederick W. Martinelli, 56, of Tootin Hill Rd., Simsbury, husband of Katherine E. (Sheldrick) Martinelli, died Saturday, (November 6, 2004) at Hartford Hospital. He was born September 9, 1948 in Hartford, son of Joseph C. Martinelli of Boca Raton, FL and the late Laura Lee (Willis) Martinelli and had lived in Simsbury all his life. Fred was a 1966 graduate of Henry James Memorial High School and a 1972 graduate of the University of Hartford. He worked for 25 years for Pioneer Steel Ball Company, Unionville, a family business started by his grandfather, Nicholas Martinelli with whom he had a very special bond. Mr. Martinelli was currently the president of FM Associates in West Simsbury and an AFLAC agent. Fred loved his family dearly and was extremely proud of his son Greg who just graduated from Simsbury High School and his daughter Lisa. Only two days before his stroke he was so happy to spend the day with Kathy and Greg to help move Greg to the Campus of the Culinary Institute of America in NY. Fred loved to play golf and was the scorekeeper for the Men's Business League at Blue Fox Run and the former Canton Men's Business League at Canton Public Golf Course. He also loved dogs and shared a love for boxers with Kathy since the beginning of their marriage 29 years ago. Raising puppies and showing their beloved dogs became a family affair with everyone filling a role. Fred loved people and always saw the good in everyone and everything. He was always willing to lend a hand at a moments notice and it seemed he could do just about anything when it came to fixing things, especially Kathy's computer. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Besides his wife and father he is survived by a son and daughter, Gregory and Lisa Martinelli both of Simsbury, a sister and brother-in-law, Ann M. and Bruce Work and thier two children, Andrew and Danielle Work all of Simsbury; two uncles and aunts, Robert and Eleanor Martinelli and family of Sarasota, FL and Phillip and Lois Martinelli and family of Simsbury, three cousins; Sheff and Willis Devier of Florida and Stephanie Devier Glass of Texas. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Anna Martinelli, and his maternal grandparents Fred and Laura Willis. Kathy and her family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to everyone at Hartford Hospital who cared for Fred and helped the family with such compassion during this very difficult time, especially Heather who was there for Kathy when she needed her the most. Dear Greg,
My husband and I were so sad to hear about the death of your dad. I lost my dad 3 years ago and it does not matter how old you are the loss is devistating. The whole Home Ec department had planned a trip on our inservice day Nov 2 up to the Culinary Institute to see you and Eric while touring. Our prayers were with you during your dad's illness. Having seen the place and meeting many people there we know it will be a very special place for you. Start on this new adventure and know that your dad will be with you every step of the way and as proud of you as I am in your accomplishments.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Joe and Ann. I am both shocked and disheartened to hear of Fred's passing. Although we hadn't seen each other since school days, I have many happy, youthful memories of growing up together as friends and next door neighbors.
