Gabriel D'AMICA

D'AMICA, Gabriel Gabriel D'Amica, 86, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Carmela (DeMarco) D'Amica, died Tuesday (November 10, 2009) at Newington Health Care. Born May 21, 1923 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Ralph and Marie (Agibine) D'Amica, he had lived in the Bronx for 30 years, Mayfield, OH for 12 years moving to Glastonbury 5 years ago. He was a hard working man who for over 25 years worked two jobs, a custodian for the city of New York during the days and as a dishwasher for the Yonkers Raceway at night. Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Gabriel and Barbara D'Amica of South Glastonbury, a daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Jack Chojnacki of South Africa, two grandchildren Katherine and Addison D'Amica and three step grandchildren Beth Woznica, Peter Chojnacki and Mary Rea. A mass of Christian Burial will be Monday (Nov. 16) at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, Sunday (Nov. 15) from 4-7pm.
