PARKER, Garland L., Sr. Garland Leonard Parker, Sr., 68, of Bloomfield, departed this life on Saturday, (November 19, 2005). He was born on March 24, 1937 in Chesapeake, VA to Augustus and Hattie Parker. He attended school in Chesapeake, VA where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Eunice (Coker) Parker. He served in the U.S. army until he was released with an honorable discharge. In 1965, Garland Parker moved to Hartford, where he made it his home. He was employed at Pratt & Whitney from 1965-1993 until he had to take an early retirement due to illness. Garland Parker was a faithful member of Christ Church of Deliverance. To cherish fond memories of his life, he leaves, his beloved wife of 48 years, Eunice Parker; his sons, Jay and wife Jenean Parker, Garland Jr. and wife Jacqui Parker, Gerald Parker, Stephen and wife Antoinette Parker, Tracy and wife Sondra Parker, James and wife Jelenne Parker; 14 grandchildren; many sisters and brothers primarily in Connecticut and Virginia; along with a host of other relatives, friends, and a church family that will miss him dearly. A Home Going Service will be held Fri., Nov. 25, 7 p.m. at Christ Church of Deliverance, located at 159 Blue Hills Avenue, in Hartford, (wake at 6 p.m.). Henry L. Fuqua FuneraI Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
