Gary Silvestri Obituary

Gary M. Silvestri, 47, of Southington, died suddenly on Friday, (September 21, 2001). He was the beloved husband of Betsy (Reisinger) Silvestri. Born in Waterbury on December 18,1953, son of Antoinette (Santolupo) Silvestri, and the late Maurice Silvestri. He graduated from Kennedy High School of Waterbury in 1971. Gary received degrees from The University of Connecticut and Trinity College. He was employed by The CT. Dept. of Labor for the past 25 years and served as the Job Center Director of the New Britain Works office. He loved baseball and was active with the Southington North League, with whom he coached for many years. Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his sons, Chris and Alex; and his daughter, Stephanie, all of Southington; his sister, Gail and her husband, Paul Lucchina of Cheshire; his brother-in-law and sister-in law, Hank and Joy Roehnert of Linwood, NJ; several aunts and uncles; cousins; and three very special nephews, Drew, Josh, and Nick. He also leaves a multitude of friends and co-workers. He will be missed by all who knew him. The funeral will held on Monday, 9:15 a.m., the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Dominic Church at 10 a.m. for a mass. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Gary Silvestri Memorial Fund, c/o Webster Bank, 359 Queen St., Southington, CT 06489.
