Gene Leaf Obituary

Gene Leaf entered the world December 6, 1947 and left November 5, 2008 after a brief illness. Gene was born to John and Maude Leaf in Vian, OK. He attended Haskell Jr. College in Lawrence, KS, entered the Army and served in Vietnam. He then moved to Moore, OK where he met and married Freda Wesley on July 8, 1972. Gene was preceded in death by his parents brother, George "Jumbo" Leaf Sara Barnett brother, Bill Leaf. He is survived by his wife, Freda of the home daughter, Christy Leaf of Edmond, OK 2 sons, Gene Leaf, Jr. (Ben) of Edmond, Greg Leaf of the home 1 grandson, Nigel Radant 2 pets, Max and Falco Cleo Leaf of Vian, OK Jim Leaf of Vian, OK Bobby Leaf of Fletcher, OK Narcy Zimsmeister of Ohio numerous nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Gene enjoyed sports, whether it was watching, coaching or playing. He was very active in basketball, baseball, softball and golf. He enjoyed working on cars, watching John Wayne Movies and taking trips to the casino. Gene was a jack of all trades and a master of them all. He was employed by Midas for 3 years prior to his illness. Gene will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but we will rejoice in the knowledge we will meet again. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, November 10, 2008, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK. Gene will be going home to Vian at 3:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2008, to be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Cemetery along with his parents, brothers and sister.

Hi. I'm Ruben Montemayor. I served with Gene in Louisiana. I tried to find him and Gerald, in photo. I'm in middle. So sorry for your loss. I wish I'd of found him and connected with him. He was such a good person. If anyone would like to connect and speak to me, would be awesome. I would like to know about Gene after the Army.
