George Francis McKeever

George Francis McKeever of New York City, son of the late Maurice and Victoria McKeever of Manchester, died Monday, August 24, 2015. He was predeceased by his brothers Daniel and Paul McKeever. He is survived by his step-son, Seamus McMillen and his wife, Sonila as well as his grand-children, Rose and Georgia McMillen. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Peter McKeever and his wife, Barbara, of Middletown. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who very much loved their Uncle George. George attended Manchester schools and went to St Thomas Seminary for high school. He graduated from Fairfield University with a degree in classical languages. He taught school in Tuxedo Park, New York for several years. He then served his country as an officer in the U.S. Navy for 10 years obtaining the rank of lieutenant commander. He obtained his MBA from Columbia University and worked at Lincoln Hospital as an accountant in New York for many years. George loved the excitement of living in the busy active city of New York and visiting the many art museums both in the city as well as around the country. He loved Yankee baseball and UCONN basketball. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (September 5th) at 11:30 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial with military honors at East Cemetery, Manchester.
