She was born in Hartford, the only daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Narkiewicz) Steirer. She was employed at the Arrow Corporation in Hartford, Waldbaum's Food Mart in Newington, Premier Cleaners in Newington and the Home Depot in Berlin. Everyone she worked with loved her and adopted her as their "work mom". Her love of reading was evident from the countless trips to the Lucy Robbins Wells Library and the numerous books she would read on a daily basis. Gladys is survived by her two sons, Steven St. Germain and his wife Joy of Florida, Brian St. Germain of Newington and his girlfriend Susan Paterson of West Haven and her daughter, Lisa St. Germain of Newington and companion Karen Beaulieu of Newington. She also leaves her grandchildren, Nicholas of Granby, and Tashina Leigh of North Adams, MA, and one great grandchild, Liam, of North Adams, MA. She also leaves many dear friends and her feline companion, Patches. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
