Gunnar Carl Fridolf Carlson

CARLSON, Gunnar Carl Fridolf Gunnar Carl Fridolf Carlson, 92, of Tequesta, FL, passed away Sunday (December 14, 2003). He was born February 20, 1911, in Sweden and came to the U.S. at the age of 17 and settled in Springfield, MA where he resided until he retired in 1972. He was the founder of Springfield Cast Products, a company that produced tooling and machinery for the Plastics Industry. He sold his business and retired to Florida in 1972, where he resided with his wife, Miriam, for the past 29 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed playing soccer, tennis, golf, bridge, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of Turtle Creek Club and Jupiter Inlet Beach Club. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Miriam, four children, Eric Carlson (Prudence) of Merrimack, NH, Britt Cain (Bill) of Austin, TX, Norma Carlson Turner (David) of Sarasota, FL and Robert Carlson (Debbie) of Springfield, MA; a step-daughter, Debbie White (David) of Tequesta, FL; a sister, Margit Carlefred of Sweden; five grandchildren; Leif, Kristina, Joel, Will and Kari; and a great-granddaughter, Faith. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lighthouse Center for the Arts, 373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, FL 33469.
