D'ACHINO, Helen P.
Helen P. D'Achino, 64, of Ellington, loving wife of Thomas J. D'Achino, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, (September 14, 2013) in Wellesley, MA. Born February 27, 1949 in East Paterson N. J., she was a daughter to the late Elmer and Trina (Seaman) Boyce. Helen enjoyed gardening, crafting and her occasional trip to the casino where she would play her slots. She loved to travel, with Lake Tahoe being one of her favorite places to visit. She was a cat lover and had numerous cats over the years. Her true passion however, was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 42 years, Thomas J., she will be sadly missed by her daughters Jennifer Griffin and her husband, Scot; and Teresa Peters and her husband, Fran all of Wellesley, MA; her precious grandchildren Reese, Shannon, Riley, Benjamin, Cole and William. She also leaves her sisters Trina Manning and Bernadette Vitale. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Elmer Boyce Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., Vernon. A funeral service for Helen will be held on Thursday, September 19th beginning at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., in St. Luke's Church, Ellington. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
