Helen Steinmiller Obituary

STEINMILLER, Helen A. (Zasonska) Helen A. (Zasonska) Steinmiller passed away at home on Tuesday, (June 24, 2008) at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Steinmiller, Jr. for 61 years who showed great devotion to her throughout her life. Their marriage modeled love and companionship. She was also a devoted mother to Carol (Steinmiller) Massaro and her husband Jerry, Elaine Steinmiller-Paradise and her husband David, and Gary Michael Steinmiller and his wife Linda. Helen and Charlie led a simple life. Her family and working in her flower garden gave her great pleasure. She especially adored her time with her six grandchildren: Lisa Massaro Verderame and her husband Michael, Abby Massaro, Leah Steinmiller, Mark Steinmiller, Katherine Paradise and Kevin Paradise all of Wethersfield. Helen is also survived by a sister Stella Procyk of Wethersfield and was predeceased by three sisters: Cecilia Kielbowicz, Mildred Partyka and Stephanie Sullivan. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Kozyra) Zasonska, Helen lived in Wethersfield most of her life. She retired from Travelers Insurance Co. She was a member of Corpus Christi Women's Club, Wethersfield Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, The Travelers Retiree Club, AARP Chapter 1222, and the Old Elm Senior Citizen Club of Wethersfield. Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 9 a.m. from D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the funeral chapel TODAY, from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to The Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, Hartford Hospital, Attn: Fund Development, 80 Seymour Street, PO Box 5037, Hartford, CT 06102.
