Hey Daddy, it's me again. Today would have been you 97th birthday! I miss you still so much. It still hurts and yes, I still cry when I think of all the times and memories we shared. I know you're o.k. and still watching over us. Mommy is a rock of strength. She is 91 yrs old and she still gets around with her walker. She talks about you and we laugh at times at the memories. I miss you sooo much. Always in my heart Daddy...Always. Love you.

Dear Daddy,
Another year has passed yet it still seems like yesterday. Still miss you sooo much. I talk to you all the time. I know that you're still watching over us because sometimes I can feel your presence. I'll continue to love you as you're always on my mind and in my heart. Mommy misses you too and she's doing o.k. Wr talk about you all the time. Daddy this is our first Christmas without you. You always gave me chocolates. Its been hard these past 10 months without you, yet you are forever in our thoughts and prayers. I like to come visit at your gravesite and think of the times we spent together whether in better times or even when you were so sick. No words can even express how much I truly miss you. I'm so glad God allows for cherishing our memories and listening to our prayers. We all love and miss you much. Gonna see you some day and you'll be walking, singing and whistling. Keep watching over us and I know I feel your presence at times. Mommy says she KNOWS your spirit is still here too. Enjoy Christ's birth today up in heaven. Love and miss you always. Patty

At home now sitting here thinking about the fact that my friend Deacon Henry Monroe has been moved on up a little higher. I'm being a bit selfish because I am so accustomed to him walking past me on Sunday and saying to me....I'll be back. I was always glad when he came back into service and I would laughingly say you came back. Change happens, but some changes are harder to accept. The Word says Even if I'm walking through the valley of the shadow of death, I'm not afraid because He will be there with us. Though Deacon Monroe has said his last I'll be back, I know that one day we will all be able to be together and say forever....we are back. Rest in Jesus kind Deacon. Family you are in my prayers and I know that God will continue to strengthen you at this most difficult time in your life. Much love to you.

with the love, and understanding.

To the Monroe Family, My sincerest condolences to you all. Thank you all for sharing such a kind, gentle person with the world. Fondest memories are as a child getting candy from him every Sunday morning after Sunday School and having him as a chaperone when the Temple Choir went on trips. As a teenager he watched over as we sat in the balcony and was understanding when we would sneak out and go to the Westbar after offering. As an adult he was an encourager to do your best and never stop believing in God. Rest well Deacon Monroe. You have left a beautiful legacy here on earth.

Daddy,
Missing you sooo much. I was not ready for you to leave us. Even though I had you for 62 years, I still was not ready to let you go. Even though I cry everyday, I know you're in a much better place where there's no more pain and suffering. You never complained of pain much though, except for those knees. You always stated you were just sooo tired. I told you not to worry about Mommy cause we got her. She's gonna be all right. She is strong but her faith in the Lord is stronger. My only solace is that you will forever be in my heart and in knowing that I will see you again someday. Gonna miss you answering my phone calls with "Yo. Yo". Gonna miss your smile. Our Candyman...
