My beloved son, memories of you are more vivid in August to April. Maybe, because of the period I carried you but I do cherish them and comfort myself - especially those in the land of our birth. Great memories until I die, mummy.

My wonderful son, Tafari, I sit here tonight on the date of your birth and remember you as a baby - you never cried or fuss, only a calm warm baby with shrewd eyes; and you grew into adulthood with that same manner. That being the reason everyone came to you with their problem as you always have a responsible solution. 'The know how man' who got things done - a talent so apparent, you were hired just out of Jamaica College High School by the Jamaica Judicial system to serve as Legal Clerk in the Courts Offices, successfully resolving civil matters with the Magistrate. Oh, I wish you had advised yourself, but as you know that's why Doctors are refrained from tending themselves and family. What is done, is done, and I pray we will meet again when my darkness have overcome. Love you my son -mummy.

A good and faithful son, my only child, who any mother would be thankful to have forever. So, my son whether you are with me physically or spiritually, I know that you made me a mother forever. You are always in my heart and thoughts and may the Lord keep you until we meet.
Your mother forever,
Mummy.

Tafari it is now 4yrs since we last saw each other but it seems like yesterday. My thoughts keep returning to that last evening and I keep wondering what I could have done to avoid my dilema. I feel so guilty all the time because there were many alternatives, if I had just acted on my intuition. The consequences, I am sure, would not have been so heartbreaking. We both took the wrong path and I as a mother(and a woman) should have forced you on the right path to safety. But, one day we will meet, my son, and I will make amends. Thank you for having been such a good and supportive son.
Miss you always, Mummy.

Tafari,
You were my only child but it seemed as if I had many children with you being here, there and everywhere for me. Thank you for all you have done for me, especially when I was ill for 5mths and you assisted me all the way. I wished I could have done the same for you. But now I know you were a Giver never to be a Taker. Bless you my son. I love you always.
