Herbert M. Priluck

PRILUCK, Herbert M. Herbert M. Priluck, 71, of Avon, died Friday, (September 25, 2009) surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, MA, he was the oldest son of the late Eli and Lilyan (Shapiro) Priluck. A graduate of English High School and the MA Institute of Technology, class of 1959, he was an accomplished civil engineer, specializing in large scale transportation projects. He was thrilled to rediscover his first and true love Joan (Frye) Priluck after 20 years apart, whom he later married in 1979. After retiring in 2001, Herb and Joan moved to Connecticut to be nearer to their children and grandchildren. All who knew Herb, knew he had a deep affinity for the state of Israel, where he lived, worked, and studied during several years of his adult life. He was a proud Zionist, with a deep affinity for the land, its people, and Judaism. He conversed fluently in Hebrew until his final days. Besides his loving wife of 30 years, he is survived by his brother David (Joanie) of Marblehead, MA and Ellie (Steve) of Plymouth, MA, formerly Needham, MA. He was the proud "Abba" of Jonathan Priluck of Oregon, Eitan Priluck of Portland, ME, step-father of Susan Ellen Ben-Porat(Avi) of Tel-Aviv, Israel and Andrea Ellen-Keigan (Brian) of Simsbury. He was also the devoted "Saba" of Liat, Tali, Ariana, Noah, Jessica, Shiran, and Sophia. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. The family offers sincere appreciation to Avon Health Center for their kindness, care and support, as well as to McClean Hospice for providing such wonderful support during Herb's final days. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 29 at 11 a.m. in the Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick, RI with a luncheon to immediately follow. Shiva will be observed at the Weitzman home in Plymouth on Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m. through Thursday evening, as well as at the Keigan home in Simsbury, CT Wednesday through Friday 12-4 p.m. Arrangements by Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel.
