Igor Vechesloff Obituary

Igor Vechesloff, of West Hartford, died peacefully at St Mary's Home on Friday January 20th. He was born June 9th, 1925 in Pancevo, Yugoslavia; he was a son to the late Zachary and Natalia Vechesloff. He loved Mother Russia, it's people, and culture with all his heart. Igor was a devout Russian Orthodox Christian and attended St Panteleimon Church in Hartford. He fled Russia during World War I I, along with family members, to safety and eventually to the United States. His education was considerable; he attended and completed two universities, both abroad and in this country. Igor was both a licensed Profesional Engineer and Land Surveyor and opened his own office in 1962. During a career spanning 50 years, he completed thousands of diverse projects of varying degrees of complexity. Professionally, he had many friends and colleagues and was widely respected in the engineering community. Due to the nature of his work, many of his accomplishments will serve as quiet testimony to his dedication and skill as an engineer. Igor is survived by his wife, Nadezhda , children Tatiana Lamb and Oleg Vechesloff, granddaughters Christine, Veronica and Julia, along with their respective spouses and children. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 8:30 am at St. Panteleimon Church, 19 Becket St, Hartford, CT. with services following at 9:30 am. I happened to find this page at the very end of 2022. Just want to share a photo when we met Igor and Natalia at Les Vegas on August 29, 2000.

Dear Nadezhda, Tatiana and Oleg,
I got lost in trying to get to Igor's service, but if I had made it I wanted to say to the people that Igor was a man who brought not only skill and judgement to his work, but there were also wonderful contributions of humor, zest and spirit.
I really valued working with him for many years.
All best to all of you,
Don Hammerberg
