Dear John and Family, Irene & I attended Cathedral High School together & then went off to St. Francis where she became my roommate. She was a wonderful friend & we shared many of the challenges and joys of nursing training and parent-car pooling in getting us back to Western MA on the weekends. Kulin & I attended your wedding and are both saddened by this premature loss. We hope this difficult time passes quickly & your are comforted by all your memories. (Helen Stupak Shah, Cape Cod)

So much to say. Mrs. C has always been a wonderful source of calmness, stability, honesty, and loving. Knowing her during my most impressionable years of growing is a benefit that I will cherish forever. Her smile and thoughtfulness will be with us always, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone.....

John & Family,
Barbara Hopkins and I were across-the-circle neighbors of Irene & John at Ryefield Conominiums. We truly enjoyed getting to know you at the neighborhood picnics that you hosted and in our brief chats in the parking lot. We always walked away saying to each other: "what a lovely, warm, and engaging couple they are". We are so saddened to hear of Irene's passing, for all of you, of course, but especially for John who has lost such a wonderful life-partner. We hope you will find comfort in your memories created with Irene, and in the knowledge of her life being one so meaningfull and well-lived, with such a generous spirit of giving. This is indeed a loss to us all.

Irene, Suzanne, Susan, and I shared a 1 bedroom apartment on Sigourney Street after nursing school graduation. We thought we were really "cool".
But not nearly as "cool" as the time Irene and I flew to Santa Barbara to visit our renagade nursing school friends, Joanne, Margie, Barbara and Pepe, with our first ever bikinis.
In retrospect, we have always been cool.
My thoughts are with you, John, and family.
