Isaura F. Barreiros

1928 - 2017

Isaura F. (Henriques) Barreiros, 88, of Newington, died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel M. Barreiros for more than 25 years. Born in Portugal, Mrs. Barreiros moved to Hartford in 1975, and resided in Newington for 22 years. She retired from the Bloomfield Convalescent Home after many years of employment and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Throughout her life she enjoyed travelling, and she loved to crochet. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves two daughters and their spouses: Maria and John Guedes of Newington, and Fernanda and David Jacobs of Avon; seven grandchildren: Marcia and her husband Jason Baird, Derek, Kayla, TaylorAnn, Max, Logan, and David; and two great granddaughters: Amalia and Liliana. She also leaves family in Montreal, Canada, and in Portugal. She was pre-deceased by three brothers and a sister: José, Joaquim, Encarnação, and Rui. Her funeral service will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Newington Memorial.
