I was very saddened to hear about Doc’s passing. I had the honor and privilege of knowing Doc during my years of playing Legion Baseball in Bristol from 1992 to 1994. He was a wonderful man who would always greet you with a smile and a hardy handshake every time he saw you. He would always have such great words of wisdom to pass along to the team and taught us how to be great winners in victory and gracious losers in defeat. I will never forget how passionate he was about the game of baseball and about his players. He was a great man who will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of such a dear and dynamic man, who ALWAYS brightened my day when he came to the office where I worked to see Jimmy Ziogas, and said "Hello Sophia!" and never failed to bring a treat with him! Such a bright light in this world!! Since moving to Hawaii 16 months ago, I have never forgotten Doc and even have a picture of him here in my office. My condolences to all his family. Doc, it was an honor and a privilege to have known you! I know you are in heaven with our Almighty God and Father, may you rest in peace, my friend!

To my dear Cousins Kathleen and Patrick....Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Joanie have always held a special place in my heart as warm-hearted, generous and loving people. Both of them lived their lives with that wonderful spirit of joy and laughter that we have been blessed to share as a part of our beloved Irish heritage. Please take comfort at your loss of Uncle Jimmy in knowing that your parents have been happily reunited in Heaven with each other, and now will share a peaceful eternity together surronded by loving family and friends.....Nana & Grampa Gilhuly, Uncle Jimmy's beloved sister and my mom, Eleanor...even Uncle Jimmy's beautiful calico cat, Candy, from so many years ago. Uncle Jimmy's kindness to our family will never be forgotten.
with loving memories,
Your cousin Sheila

Condolences to the Gilhuly Family. Doc's commitment of service to the community of Bristol will be his legacy that will live on forever. His sense of caring for his patients, will be remembered by scores of atheletes, including myself as he helped to get us "back in the game" as soon as possible. Doc truely understood the concept of Servant Leadership. His energy will live on with everyone who he touched. Thanks for loaning him to us for all too short a time !

Pat and family; I am very saddened to learn of the passing of "Doc". Doc was always good to me and I learned a lot from him. Many of the lessons weren't realized for a number of years but I am stronger for them.
Please accept my sympathies.
