PEATIE, James Summers
James Summers (J. Scotty) Peatie, (dba Fuzzy Bottom Marine), passed away peacefully at home after losing his battle with cancer. A native of Hartford, CT., he made Cape Cod his home since 1969. He was predeceased by his parents, James D. and Helen (Donovan) Peatie. He attended St. Augustine's Grammar School and graduated from Bulkeley High School, after which he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Over the years, he was employed by the Pancake Man, Packaging Industries, Linhares Precast, to mention a few. Hauling boats from New England to Florida, he knew every exit, every mile marker, every truck stop along Route 95 and beyond. Even going as far west as Victoria Island, British Columbia. He was the man with the "Million Mile Dually". He enjoyed boating and having lots of people around him. He was a friend to many, friendships that lasted a lifetime. Scotty was a member of the "Band of Angels", hardly ever missing a fun filled Figawi event. He was a man of many jokes. His favorite line was "We're her for a good time, not a long time". He was a beautiful person who will be sorely missed. He is survived by his long-time companion and best friend, Patty Isenor; his daughter, Jennifer D. Peatie and granddaughter, Kaylee Thompson of Dennis, MA; his son, Robert S. Peatie of Martha's Vineyard and grandchildren, Jordan Henderson and Vivian Mae Peatie of NH. Also surviving are sisters, Denise Wyer and her husband, Herb of Wellfleet, MA, Barbara Peatie of Holliston, MA and Virginia Larkin and her husband, James of Cromwell, CT; three nephews, William, Timothy, and Michael Rice and a niece, Catherine Gallo and their families, his extended Hansen-Isenor families, many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Figawi Charities, P.O. Box 406, W. Hyannisport, MA 02672, in his name.
Please join us for a celebration of Scotty's life at 2 p.m. Saturday (October 22, 2011) at Oceans, 235 Ocean St. Hyannis, MA
