James Rankin Obituary



Sr. Master Sergeant (Retired) James M. Rankin, 89 of Stephens City, VA, beloved husband, for 50 years, of Martina J. Rankin, passed away peacefully at home, on Monday, August 21, 2017. Born in Hartford, CT on July 21, 1938, son of the late Milton H. and Gussie (Patterson) Rankin. Graduating from Weaver High School in 1956, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, retiring after 28 years, then working and retiring from Homeland Security for almost 20 years. He is also survived by two children, Marcia J. Rankin of CA. and James M (Susan) Rankin of Stephens City, VA; two grandchildren, Micaela and Kory Butcher of CA. Also survived by four siblings; Carl P (Lorrie) Rankin and Jo-Ann Robinson of CT, Charles K. Rankin of Columbia, SC. and Gail V (Arnold) Martin of CT. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother Paul D. Rankin. James also has several nieces and nephews, that will cherish the memory of their beloved uncle. Memorial service and burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Jim and Martina gave us a kitchen table with four chairs circa 2000... they're still in use in our Family. Kindness is remembered and appreciated.
