Jamila Mehdi-Khan Obituary

MEHDI-KHAN, Jamila Jamila Mehdi-Khan, 75 of Manchester, passed away Saturday (March 12, 2005) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She had been a resident of Manchester since she moved to United States from Lahore, Pakistan in 1991. Jamila was a widow of late Luther Prince Mehdi-Khan. She is survived by her son Shahnawaz Mehdi-Khan, his wife Phyllis, her daughters Shahnaz Lazarus, her husband Maurice, all of whom reside in Connecticut, her daughter Zarina Cox, her husband Vincent, they reside in Leicester, England. Jamila also is survived by her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She spent her life inspiring others as a teacher at Cathedral High School in Lahore, Pakistan and helping raise her grandchildren. Jamila was a loving mother, compassionate and inspirational as a teacher, a woman, a mother and a grandmother and continues to be so in her after life. Memorial services will be held this Saturday March 19, at Coventry Funeral Home 2665 Boston Turnpike (Route 44), Coventry, CT 06238. Funeral Services include Viewing Hours between 10-11 a.m. A service will be held 11 a.m. with Pastor Joseph G. Di Leo, Jr. officiating, followed by burial procession to East Cemetery on East Center Street in Manchester.
