To The Family of Jan Huyck,

I worked with Jan for twenty five years with The Travelers in Hartford, CT. I was very saddened to hear that he had passed away. He was a friend, dedicated fellow employee, a very fine gentleman and we enjoyed working together and also sharing our Navy experiences.

My sincere sympathy to the entire family.

Dear Norma

We current and former Bonnet Shores residents who were friends of Jan were all shocked and saddened to hear of Jan's passing.

Miki and I, as former Travelers employees, were always impressed by Jan's ability to keep in touch with the old company after retirement. We so enjoyed his tales.

Jan's arrival in Bonnet every spring was always such a special event as he made his rounds delivering tomatoes fresh from Naples. We looked forward to his stories and friendly chats.

Thinking of Jan brings a smile to us both.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Norma, Myrna and Brenda,

I'm so sorry for your loss of a fabulous husband, father and friend. Such a common sentiment and much less than adequate. My thoughts and prayers are with you (and I'm counting on and expecting Jan's commentaries from heaven!).

Dear Norma, Myrna, Brenda and Families:

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Jan's passing. I know what it feels like to be where you are and no amount of words can soothe you. But, I'll try.

He was always my favorite Uncle. (Yes, yes, I know, he was my only Uncle, but that is beside the point.) I will always remember talking politics with him and joking with him. He liked to kid around . I thought it was funny because he always tried to get arise out of me. (I guess when I was little it worked.) I will remember his laugh and the way he approached life. He never met a stranger--at least not for long.

I got to know Uncle Jan better as an adult than when I was a child and I am grateful for it. Though he stood a few inches shorter than me, I will always remember Uncle Jan as being larger than life. He was a great man and I am sure that even today the angels cry.

I have already been saying prayers for him, but will continue to do so. He will be greatly missed.

To Norma and family my sympathy for your loss. Jan worked hard for every cause. I worked with him on the Wethersfied Rep town Committee and later on the Wethersfield Insurance Advisory Board. After I moved to Niantic Jan would arrange lunch with me and Bob Watson which were always fun occasions.

Dear Norma and Family,
We enjoyed Jan's company a lot. Knowing him has been one of the perks of Diamond Lake. He was a genuinely nice person. Knowledgable about many subjects and interesting to talk with. He worked very hard to unify varied owners at Diamond Lake and to assist the Board of Directors. He will be greatly missed here in Naples as well as in your home.
We are so sorry for your loss.
