LUCARDI, Jane (O'Malley) Jane (O'Malley) Lucardi, longtime resident of Suffield, died Saturday (August 28, 2004) at Suffield House. Jane was born in Springfield, MA, September 29, 1921. She graduated from American International College with a BS in Chemistry, May 1943. She later earned her Master's Degree in Education from Framingham State College in 1962 and earned a six-year level diploma in Professional Education, Administration and Supervision from UCONN in 1977. In December 1944, she married Ralph "Luke" Lucardi. As an Air Force wife, there were many places Jane called "home"; Las Vegas, NV, W. Springfield, MA, Salt Lake City, UT, Dayton, OH, Framingham, MA, Colorado Springs, CO and eventually settling close to her original roots in Suffield. Her husband, Luke, preceded her in death in 1992. Jane gave a lifetime of service to thousands of young men and women, touching many lives with her teaching, counseling and friendship during her 45 year career in education. She initiated The Jane O'MalIey Scholarship Fund, assisting many young people in pursuing their educational dreams. Most recently, for over 20 years, she was a Guidance Counselor at Agawam Junior High. She retired in 1998. Jane leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Annie and David Conry of Louisville, CO; her granddaughter, Naomi Yoder of Golden, CO; her granddaughter, and husband, Natha and Scott Perkins along with her great granddaughter, Evabella Perkins of Boulder, CO. She also leaves behind many many friends who loved her along with her positive attitude about life and her welcoming spirit. The funeral will be TODAY at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Suffield followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee. A calling hour will precede the Mass at the church TODAY, from 10-11 a.m. Contributions may be made to your local Susan B. Koman Fund (Breast Cancer Foundation) or to the American International College. Curran-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathy. Jane was a good friend and I missed her letters written in the past.Luke was a fishing buddy of mine who was one of my best friends. They are now at peace together.
