Janet Ramos Obituary

RAMOS, Janet Emilia Janet Emilia Ramos, 42, of South Windsor, passed away Tuesday (December 16, 2008). She is survived by her beloved husband Jose Ramos; and by two children, Bruce (15) and Elton (12); as well as by her parents, Julio and Epifania Alzamora; and siblings, Nancy, Harding, Elizabeth and Cecilia. She is now accompanying in eternal life her grandparents and aunts: Irene and Juana Alzamora. Born in Lima, Peru October 2, 1966, and raised in Ocros Ancash until her early teenage years, where she relocated to Hartford. Janet graduated from Conard High School in June of 1985 and then continued her education at Manchester Community College, where she majored in Hotel Management and Culinary Arts. In addition to, she received a certificate for Health Claim Specialist from Brandford Hall Institute. She also received the Volunteer Recognition Award from the Connecticut Association of Elementary Schools for Principals and Excellence in Connecticut Adult Education where she received an Adult Learner Award. She was a wonderful and ideal mother who juggled her time with her children's education and extra curriculum activities. As a teachers assistant she made time to help children, as well as assist the elderly as a caregiver. She was also very involved in the Peruvian Community where she held numerous events to raise funding for her Country. Besides all her activities, what she engaged in and loved the most, was spending time with her loving family. She would offer her spare time to help others. Although she was miles away from her country she kept her aunts and uncles: Francisco, Luisa, Leonardo Alzamora, Juan, Eduarda, Roberto, Benita, Reynaldo, Magno Palacios as well as other relatives and friends close to her heart. Unfortunately, slightly over a year ago, she was diagnosed with Cancer. She patiently and courageously battled her illness with the intent to spend another moment with her family. Although, she is now gone, neither she nor her Peruvian smile will ever be forgotten and would truly be missed. Her memories will live in our hearts for ever!!! Calling hours will be TODAY, from 5-8 p.m. at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, located at 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 20, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, in New Park Avenue, Hartford, followed by the burial in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Hey tia,

I really miss you and I wish you could be here with us. I wanted to thank you for everything you've done for our family and I still don't understand why you had to go so soon. We weren't ready to say good-bye but sadly we had no choice. But don't worry because your family are all looking out for eachother and we are trying our best to be as organized as you were.

R.I.P. Tia Janet

?We will always love you and miss you so very much?

Nancy, I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. I can see she was a remarkable person who gave so much to everyone she touched. Her life was too short but she filled it by helping all those around her. Her work is not finished she'll be by God's side helping Him. Keep in mind all you gave her and I'm sure that was the reason she fought so hard to live. To loose a sibling is a devastating loss but you'll always have your memories. Right now you're filled with sadness but after awhile you'll remember all the good times and the thought of her will bring a smile to your face. My deepest sympathy to you and your whole family. You'll all be in my thoughts and prayers.

We remember Janet from playgroup in West Hartford. She was a wonderful person and a loving mother to her two sons.

No matter how old we are,
Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know,
But her goodness, her caring and her wisdom live on,
Like a legacy of love that will always be with you.
