Jean Little Obituary

Jean Little, 89, of Avon, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her home in Avon. Jean was born in Summit, New Jersey on May 26, 1929 to the late Willett P. and Sally (Hudson) Whitney. Jean was educated at Denison University, where she received her bachelor's degree. She taught math at Kingswood-Oxford School for many years and worked in the insurance industry for Little Aetna and CIGNA. She is survived by her children, Ross Little of McLean, VA; Sarah Holcomb of Columbus, OH; and James Little of Short Hills, NJ; 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 13 years; Fred Bird who died November 23, 2011. Per Jean's request, a private service will be held on the island of Martha's Vineyard at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Jeans' memory may be made to Kingswood-Oxford School, 170 Kingswood Road, West Hartford, CT, 06119-1430.
