Jennie (Nik) Bieu, 93, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Kenneth R. Bieu died peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 25, 1921 in Bridgeport daughter of the late Alexander and Tessie Nik. Jennie was a graduate of Windham High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the State of Connecticut as a Director working at the former Mansfield Training School. She was a Communicant of St. Bartholomew Church in Manchester. Jennie was a member of the Manchester Senior Center where she enjoyed taking ceramic classes. She is survived by her five grandchildren; Jennie Shea and husband, Patrick, David Dyment and wife, Becky, Timothy Dyment and fiancé Kristen McCartney, Christian Bieu and Richard Bieu and partner Kevin Knapp. Her ten loving and special great-grandchildren; Kailyn, Leah, Aiden, Ryan, Ava, Justin, Jake, Devin, Karley and William and one on the way, her son-in-law, Edward Dyment, her daughter-in-law, Sheryl Bieu, her sister-in-law Ruth Nik and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her three children; Donald Bieu, Richard Bieu and Denise Bieu Dyment, her granddaughter, Laura Ann Bieu, her brother, Frank Nik and two sisters, Helen Horvath and Margaret Williams. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Route 44, Ashford.
